Cold last night, probably around 40. Cool day with lots of big puffy white clouds (Wendy was actually cold when we took breaks). Nice to have four walls tonight.
There was no Moose poop on Moose Mountain. Actually there has not been any since we left Vermont. I did see a track later today. Also saw another very fine display by a grouse.
Moutains getting bogger fast. We descended about 1000 feet down Moose Mountain and climbed 1000 feet up to Holt's Ledge. Then down again to Lyme-Dorchester Rd. Then back up 2400 feet on Smarts Mountain to the Fire Wardens Cabin. The cabin formerly was used by the ranger who worked in the fire tower here. Now it is maintained by the Dartmouth Outdoor Club for hikers.
Met two thru hikers today. Flatlander passed us going south. He was slackpacking and is actually hiking north, finishing a thru-hike from last year. We will likely see him again.
Donner is thru-hiking starting in early March. Not likely to see him again.
