Rain. Humid and warm, high 80.
Hiked in the rain morning and afternoon with wet rocks and roots. Fell again today, three days in a row.
We had to ford a stream. Capt. tried to rock hop and slipped in. The rest of us used our new water shoes and waded. This is probably one of many such fords we will have Rodolfo's in this part of Maine.
We also had trail magic today. There was a cooler of iced drinks after the second stream crossing.
Slack packing is challenging. Today for example, we drove to a trail at the end of this road (Pleasant Rd.) that connects to the AT and left the Capts. car. We then drove back to Breakneck Ridge in Flatlander's car and hiked. We got to Pleasant Rd. early so Flatlander hiked out (see picture of him with 4 day packs on) to the car drove ahead three trail miles to Rt. 15 and hiked back (south). We continued north, got the key when we passed, then hiked to the car. Afterwards, Capt. and I went back to Breakneck Ridge for Flatlander's car.
We are trying to plan the remainder of the trip tonight. Not easy.
